Small Group Surfing Lessons

Fantastic surfing experience! Learn the basics and the fundamentals, practice, and have fun. San Diego Surf spends more time with you, delivers the details of learning how to surf in a way you can understand. It's all about having a fun journey, wipeouts, and catching waves with fun, engaging, informative, instructors on our "Magic Beach" where the magic can make an ordinary day become an experience of something extraordinary ... MAGICAL. Surfing Lessons are a great combo of fun, learning, exercise and bonding with family and friends.

Suitable for everyone 7 and older who are comfortable in the water. If you are on vacation in San Diego County or just taking a break from school, work, or need the kids to burn some energy, this is the way to do it.

Total lesson time from suit up to suit out and pic airdrops is about 2.5 to 3 hours, including sand instruction, safety talk, photos, videos and 60 to 90 minutes of water time.

The default booking time is 9 am, but we adjust our start times to match tides and other conditions for a safe and fun experience. Meeting location and lesson time confirmed after purchase. If we cannot meet your needs in the process of adjusting times or dates you will be given a 100% refund.

You will receive a text after purchase with instructions on how to confirm your information and wetsuit size.

All participants 18 and over must sign a waiver. All participants under 18 must have a waiver signed by a responsible adult or guardian. Participants must have swimming skills. Safety is our priority. Participants under 12 must purchase an additional instructor or provide an adult volunteer to help the under 12 surfer navigate the waves out.

We do not surf in the rain or storm conditions or when there is a high surf advisory that is not safe for you or our staff. Sometimes a high surf is ok but rain and storms are never ok. We follow the advisories SDBEACHINFO. If the health department puts out a high bacterial advisory (after big surf or rain) for our surf break, we will not surf until advisory is lifted. We will certainly try to reschedule with you. If we cannot reschedule you, a full refund will be given.

Refund Policy: Full refunds for beach closures or unsafe conditions where the lesson cannot be rescheduled.
Full refunds for cancellations up to 48 hours prior to the lesson.
No refunds for no shows, intoxication, or for students that must be put on beach because they cannot practice safe surfing as instructed.
